Speaker: Professor Joseph M. Brincat –  
Joseph M. Brincat is professor of Italian Linguistics at the University of Malta. He holds degrees from the universities of Malta, London and Florence and is much in demand as a public speaker. Prof Brincat is an elected member of the prestigious Accademia della Crusca of Florence, is engaged in the University of Pavia’s project on the dubbing of English-language films into Italian, and is on the University of Turin’s Board of Studies for Ph.D. in Onomastics. Professor Brincat’s latest book is ‘Maltese and other languages – A linguistic history of Malta’ (Midsea Books, 2011, 38€).
