A culture that believe that mind, body and spirit are essential in the creation of balanced beings and as such we are striving to bring together these key elements and their relevance to the modern world in a way that is fun, accessible and easy to understand for kids.
Driving home the message, ‘that we are all one with each other and our environment’. Linking up with the concept of the symbiotic relation between Mother Earth (PachaMama) and its inhabitants.
First workshop (duration 1.30 mn)– Saturday 24th of May 2014- 2.30pm :
• Introduction to Peru/Bolivia/geography and Inca civilization (will incorporate in the discussions an overview of interesting facts about history, geography, architecture, dance and costume, food and culture, environment and trade, animals and nature, story and relate them back to Maltese life and culture.
• Listen to an Inca tale and draw it
Second Workshop (duration 1.30 mn)- Saturday 31 of May 2014- 2.30pm :
. Andean Aesthetic
1-Textile;colors, materials
2- Pottery
3- Jewels ( gold/ silver ) and Feather
4-Craft with feather
Third Workshop with Wayra group (duration 1.30 mn)- Saturday 14 of June 2014 -2.30pm:
• Andean Instruments : 3 different families : (i) the wind family (ii) the string family and (iii) the percussion family. A large number of instruments which children can handle and are provided for the purpose of giving them first hand experience at playing and seeing the construction of said instruments so they can try them out for themselves.
Groups of up to 10 children
