A Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy Task Force, consisting of two frigates and one replenishment ship with a total crew of 787, will pay a friendly port visit to Malta between 26th and 30th March 2013 at the invitation of the Armed Forces of Malta. The Task Force has just concluded a four-month anti-piracy mission in the Gulf of Aden, during which it has provided security escort to hundreds of civilian and commercial vessels of various nationalities including Maltese ones. It will be the first time in history that a Chinese Navy Task Force visits Malta and will be a major opportunity for the enhancement of cooperation and understanding between the Chinese PLA Navy and the Armed Forces of Malta.

The ships will be berthed at Pinto Wharf in Grand Harbour and will be open to the general public for viewing during the following time periods:

Between 09:00 and 12:00 in the morning of 27th March

Between 14:00 and 17:00 in the afternoon of 28th March

Anyone interested are welcome to board the ship during the time periods.

Please kindly note that for security reasons, bags or food are not allowed to be carried onto the ship. Smoking or photographing is forbidden on board. Please follow the instructions of Task Force officers during the tour and thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
