The rural village of Manikata will be celebrating the Pumpkin Festival on Sunday 27th October 2013 , from 10am till late in the afternoon.  This is the fifth year that the Manikata Farmers' Cooperative will be holding a Pumpkin Festival in Manikata, to give people a taste of Pumpkin-based recipes which are unique to their area. The Pumpkin Fest brings together the different small communities living in Manikata in order to celebrate everything that’s positive and good in the local residential community.

There will be stands with typical Maltese food including savoury pumpkin pies, and pumpkin tea cakes, set up by Koperattiva Rurali Manikata; pumpkins and other vegetables produced by Manikata farmers; plants and pumpkin trivia; traditional Maltese and contemporary music; pumpkin carving and on site painting by local artist Jeni Caruana.  This event will even be ideal for thoe who want to start their christmas shopping with original and useful local gifts.

The aim of the Pumpkin Fest is to highlight the best of what Manikata has to offer and raise funds for projects spearheaded by Koperattiva Rurali Manikata and the Manikata Parish Church.

The activity will be organised by Koperattiva Rurali Manikata together with the Parish of St Joseph of Manikata, with the support of the Mellie─ža Local Council.
